On the technical side the D400 has a 10.1MP sensor with an automatic cleaning system to ensure that dust on the sensor is less of a problem, a 2.5 inch sharp display, a high quality viewfinder which has a proximity sensor that turns off the display while in use. One the technical side you get the Digic II image processing engine and a new nine-point AF assist system which is extremely quick and accurate even in low light. The excellent control system makes the numerous image manipulation and shooting mode options accessible with ease also including a new Picture-Style option with nine pre-set Picture settings all of which can be customized for sharpness, contrast, saturation and colour tone. When it comes to performance the 400D does not disappoint and provides excellent access times and fast and responsive shooting even in RAW and Fine Image modes. Not surprisingly the image quality of the 400D is also superb but does not really outshine other excellent competing models. This is a great DSLR camera and we suggest the use of high quality lenses for optimal results.
