The majority of the controls for the vast customizable options of the S5-IS are located at the back of the camera alongside the flip and switch 2.5 inch LCD which provides vivid informative image-preview as well as displays all the relevant information in regard to the current picture mode and all the various settings. The body of the S5-IS is made of high-impact plastic over a metal chassis, and is very solidly put together. The large and comfortable handgrip and design of the camera make it very steady and easy to handle.
