The Nikon Coolpix L11 is undoubtedly one of the most affordable 6MP digital cameras on the market with very little real competition similarly priced. The L11 is quite slim but is not the smallest most slender digital camera and for a fair increase in cost one could find other models which emphasize mobility and design to a greater extent. For this sort of price however, the L11 with a rather plain metallic silver finish and weighing at approximately 175g with both AA batteries inserted is still a rather attractive and mobile choice. At the back of the L11 one will find the majority of the control button as well as a 2.4 inch display which provides fair quality image preview. As far as features and customizable/manual-control options go the L11 has very little to offer and it is clearly intended for the amateur user and for point-and-shoot situations. There are only three picture modes; Auto, Video Mode and "Scene" which i selection of 15 modes which should provide some adjustments in accordance to certain types of scenery. For such a small affordable camera the L11’s picture quality and X3 Zoom do not disappoint and puts much more expensive models to shame. In single picture mode the shot-to-shot cycle takes about 2.3 seconds while in continuous –shot mode it’s a brisk 0.7 seconds. With a Pair of 2100mAh NiMH rechargeable batteries the L11 can take well over 100 shots without even hinting the need of recharging. Overall this is a good affordable choice for the amateur user
