Perhaps the finest of the plasma HDTVs, the Pioneer PDP 5080HD (or 42 inch PDP 4280HD) displays an impressive picture with fantastic contrast, even though its rated resolution is only 768p. Evidently, the difference between 768p HD and 1080p HD is minimal in determining the quality of the picture, mainly because every television has to downgrade video to its native resolution, thus leaving contrast as the most deciding factor. The 5080HD also boasts a terrific array of connections, with 4 HDMI inputs as well as a VGA computer port.
