The Toshiba 32C303DB is a 32 inch wide screen TV intended for the low budget user seeking to upgrade to a wide LCD display without burning a hole in his pocket. One of the strong suits of the TV and sadly almost the only one is a design which upon sight will leave people questioning whether this product really is intended for the low-end market being both sleek and modern. The 32C is also well equipped with connectors distinctly two HDMI ports and an array of other more ordinary connectors. However, make no mistake this is not a True-HD TV and the maximal resolution is set at 1,366 x 768 so if you were hoping to enjoy some real 1080p content you won’t find what you’re looking for here. Toshiba boasts some neat image enhancing features which are supposedly meant to enhance the quality of the image and provide a high contrast ratio and black level response for those darker scenes. Sadly reality is quite different than what the 32C sets out to do and the contrast ratio is disappointing at best making darker scenes lack in detail and even same bland and hollow as the TV fails to resolve subtle background details. Another predominant problem with the 32C is poor responsiveness to even slight changes in viewing angle; a mere 30-40 degrees off axis may lead to a drastic decline in picture colour richness and overall image sharpness. But not all is at loss; the 32C still does very well at display vibrant dynamic and engaging bright scenes. Overall the 32C is mediocre at best.
